Introduction
As a Kindergarten teacher in the Silicon Valley, I need to set my students up for success to thrive in their communities and their future careers. To ensure my students are set up for success I have applied additional technology resources in my classroom that increase access to 21st Century skills. In my classroom, students use Chromebooks during independent work centers and I deliver Guided Reading lessons on iPads using the Reading A-Z (RAZ) application. I sought the support of my Principal and provided many resources about why it is vital my students have access to the most current technology to support 21st Century Skills to aid their success now and in the future as the Silicon Valley progresses. It is important for students to be exposed to this technology because they will be using this same technology in their future academic career and in professional settings. In addition to giving my students access and exposure to technology resources to open doors for them, I also plan parent meetings to explain resources and strategies I use in the classroom. Parents can walk away with resources and specific instructional strategies to better support their students at home. This is important so parents and teachers can work together to help close the achievement gap and ensure students are given multiple opportunities to achieve their goals through additional resources, exposure to technology, and teacher-family relationships.

Conclusion
In conclusion, I have seen growth in my students since hosting a Kinder parent meeting and see great excitement in my students while using the technology resources in the classroom. Students are able to navigate Online Learning Programs (OLPs) and iPads to support their learning, specifically in phonics and reading. Students will be leaving my classroom at six years-old with technology skills they need to be successful in the Silicon Valley and their academic career. Over the past three years, I had many parents thank me and show appreciation for hosting regular Kinder parent meetings. They are able to leave with resources in hand and learning the same strategies I use in the classroom to support student learning at home and in the future which will help students achieve their goals and open doors in their future.
